The study of coolness, part one. Elvis was my main man. I grew up listening to his music, copying his moves, digging his fashion sense. He was at his peak of coolness in 1956. I was at my peak of coolness in 1999. As a youngster I thought he looked maori, sounded maori and moved maori. The moko is stylised to symbolise his love of whanau, music and fashion.
